| Spring Equinox 21st March The day and night are in perfect balance, and we hold a celebration of spring and growth, a renewal of life after the winter. Yes, it's another fertility festival (what else at this time of year?). A time of new beginnings, reflected by nature bursting forth with new growth. Eggs are an obvious symbol of fertility and reproduction, and we use them as part of this ritual, burying them or burning them as offerings, and eat them as part of the feast. We decorate with early spring flowers and greenery, We feast around our coven fire, sing and tell stories, and drink and laugh to our hearts' content... "For I am the soul of nature That gives life to the universe, From Me all things proceed And unto Me They must return." (Doreen Valiente) Festivals |
